My first finished item for 2014.
Excuse quality of photo. Inside and late at night!! |
I picked up
both the pattern and the fabric from the Toronto sewing meet-up in November in
Hamilton.
I needed
another dress for my trip to Australia and this was quick and easy to sew. I
omitted the side slit and ruffle as I did not have enough fabric for that.
Also, as this was a knit fabric I omitted the darts.
The fabric was a huge piece that I
shared with both Gillian (Crafting a Rainbow) and Gjeometry, it will be
interesting to see their creations with the same fabric!
Aloha, Debbie
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog. I love your approach to sewing. I am jealous that you have a sewing groups. Quilting is huge here something I have a limited interest.
Oh! I live in the Big Island of Hawaii. Sewing is my passion and relaxation
Thanks for sharing a bit of yourself.
Once again,

It looks like a really nice dress, and I am so jealous of you getting to go to Austrailia and see the sun. (Also, don't feel too bad about the photos. We all know winter sucks when it comes to sunlight.)
ReplyDeleteThat looks awesome! Well done! I haven't used my piece yet, but I"m sure I will soon! Nothing is more fun to sew than swapped fabic!
ReplyDeleteLovely! I'm so jealous that you're making sundresses, meanwhile it's been -25*C here for the last week.
ReplyDeleteReally glad I found this blog. Living in Deepest Africa, I have a lot of time on my hands and one of the things I enjoy doing is sewing, it is not always easy to be creative and patterns are non existent.
ReplyDeleteThat fabric had been in my stash forever. It looks much nicer on you!
ReplyDeleteYour dress is fabulous! I really like the fabric. And have fun in the hot Australian sun!
