A blog to keep me on track with my sewing and occasional knitting projects. I have a busy day job totally unrelated to anything creative, so sewing is my outlet!

Pastille Dress
At long last ....here is my Pastille dress. By now everyone around who can sew in a straight line has made theirs and I am late again as usual!!
I bought the linen back in February and adore the color. I have decided that this spring and summer I am stepping out of my comfort zone and going for bright colors. I had signed up to do the Sew Colette Sew Along co-hosted by Sarah at "Rhinestones and Telephones" and I was late getting started (and finished!!) with the Meringue skirt, and obviously even later with the Pastille dress.
In my defense, I actually had this almost finished a month ago, even though the pleats drove me to distraction!! But to iron it and get a few pictures has taken a while as well!
Now just looking for a nice summer function to show this lovely dress off.
And....... I will be doing the others in the Sew Colette handbook.

That's one of the best Pastilles I've seen. Great colour - the linen is perfect for it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Katy, it's not a color I normally wear, but I like it. Now just need an occasion to wear it!!
ReplyDeleteYour Pastille looks lovely! Such a beautiful color too!
ReplyDeleteThe color is so different from my usual choices, but I am loving it!
DeleteGorgeous! Nice to see it in a bright color rather than a print.
ReplyDeleteThanks! When i saw this fabric I knew I had to make the Pastille dress in it. Not my usual, but I love it.
DeletePretty dress and the color looks wonderful on you!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I am still waiting for an opportunity to wear it out!
DeleteNice color choice! I like feeling tall too. I'm late with sew-alongs too... I'm on One from 2010
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not the only one tagging behind when it feels like everyone else is finishing the Sew Alongs on time! Life just gets in the way sometimes!!
