Me Made May- The First Few Days

Although late signing up, being a keener for these Me Made May challenges I actually started before May 1.

I wore my turquoise Colette patterns Moneta on Wednesday April 29 while out for dinner and then a walk on the beach in Sarasota (vacation time!). This dress was one of the last things I sewed last year before my sewing hiatus. Very easy to wear.

On Thursday I wore a bikini and little skirt (Kwik Sew 3696) and then wore it again on Friday May 1, the official first day of Me Made May 2015. I also used a string bag that I crocheted a while ago to take my stuff to the beach and pool.

Saturday, Day 2 I wore a tee shirt that is one of my favorites, "Our Fave Top" Free pattern from Tessuti Fabrics. I need to make more of these, I love the casual slouchy look of this tee.

Sunday, Day 3. I wore another oldie but a goodie, my Sewaholic Renfrew, I have made a couple but I live in this one. So comfortable for the flight home from Florida!

Me Made May

Spring must be here! It's Me Made May!!!

Because I haven't been sewing much over the last few months and because I got rid of a whole load of clothing as part of having a good look at my wardrobe and my style, I wasn't going to take part this year.

Then I thought why not! It will help assess where the gaps in my current had stitched wardrobe are. Plus, I have always enjoyed the previous Me Made Mays.

So here goes, better late than never:

'I,  Debbie, of Sew Debbie, sign up as a participant of Me-Made-May '15. I endeavour to wear at least one me made item each day for the duration of May 2015"

A Grainline Archer

After a few months break, I am sewing again!

I bought this pattern well over a year ago, and last summer I cut out the pieces and after a few seams, put it away.

Over the February Family Day long weekend this year, I took it out and had it finished within two days (and then it still takes this long to post!!)

I used an article from an old issue of Threads magazine, to give me ideas for using different fabrics.

I picked these shirting fabrics up from a cross border shopping trip to Joanne's in Buffalo a few years ago.

I must say I am really happy with the outcome and got plenty of comments when I wore it to work one Friday.

There will be more Archers. I am thinking of a Chambray one and I have a nice navy and white Stripe which I might use to make a sleeveless version.
