Style Arc Elita Designer Top

I took one look at the Style Arc Elita designer top and knew I had to make it. It also helped that I had a large piece of navy blue jersey in my sewing room just waiting to be used.

I love the fact that you can see a pattern, and download within minutes and print, piece together and be ready to go just like that.

This was my first Style Arc pattern. This was a very easy pattern to sew. In fact the printing and piecing together the pattern probably took longer than sewing this top up. Even though I did finish all my ends and hems, where the pattern tells you to leave them.

It looks good with the cowl (the trunk as the pattern calls it) either wrapped or left hanging loose.

I am planning a reversible one and I was thinking about a grey jersey and a black, I think it would look great the way the cowl neck drapes.

Not the best photos unfortunately!!

Me Made May Days 4 -9

Happy Mother's Day to all Mother's out there!

Day 4, an oldie but a goodie, Butterick 5247

Day 5, a Marfy skirt, this was a free pattern. I used the excellent tutorial from A Challenging Sew

Day 6 a Portrait Blouse from Gertie's New Book For Better Sewing

Day 7, Mathilde Blouse from Tilly and the Buttons and the skirt is the Pencil Skirt from Gertie's New Book For Better Sewing

Day 8, A Grainline Archer. I just love this button down blouse.

Day 9. During the day I wore a Grainline Scout Woven Tee, and in the evening I work a little top that was another free Marfy pattern (again, using the excellent tutorial from A Challenging Sew).

So far so good and no repititions!!

Me Made May- The First Few Days

Although late signing up, being a keener for these Me Made May challenges I actually started before May 1.

I wore my turquoise Colette patterns Moneta on Wednesday April 29 while out for dinner and then a walk on the beach in Sarasota (vacation time!). This dress was one of the last things I sewed last year before my sewing hiatus. Very easy to wear.

On Thursday I wore a bikini and little skirt (Kwik Sew 3696) and then wore it again on Friday May 1, the official first day of Me Made May 2015. I also used a string bag that I crocheted a while ago to take my stuff to the beach and pool.

Saturday, Day 2 I wore a tee shirt that is one of my favorites, "Our Fave Top" Free pattern from Tessuti Fabrics. I need to make more of these, I love the casual slouchy look of this tee.

Sunday, Day 3. I wore another oldie but a goodie, my Sewaholic Renfrew, I have made a couple but I live in this one. So comfortable for the flight home from Florida!

Me Made May

Spring must be here! It's Me Made May!!!

Because I haven't been sewing much over the last few months and because I got rid of a whole load of clothing as part of having a good look at my wardrobe and my style, I wasn't going to take part this year.

Then I thought why not! It will help assess where the gaps in my current had stitched wardrobe are. Plus, I have always enjoyed the previous Me Made Mays.

So here goes, better late than never:

'I,  Debbie, of Sew Debbie, sign up as a participant of Me-Made-May '15. I endeavour to wear at least one me made item each day for the duration of May 2015"
